Today is Friday November 13^th and I really AWESOME holiday in Spain-

Book Shop Day!

TODAY- All over Spain bookstores are offering discounts, holding events, competitions and signings to encourage Literacy! In some cities residents are encouraged to leave books in public spaces for others to find, as a city wide book sharing event.

This year’s slogan is:

Leer es Viajar – to Read is to Travel.

How cool is that? I love to read, and do far too little of it. This year my new years resolution was to read a book a month, and I am embarrassed to admit that I am a little bit behind in this simple task, but events like this remind me of the importance of reading. Reading and sharing literature is an amazing way to connect and encourage others. I love hostiles that have a free book shelf, where travelers can pass on their previous books and pick up a new one.

Recently I also came across a public bookshelf with THIS website that allows you to give away a book and then track where is goes!

Reading does take you on adventures but how awesome is it that what you read can go on an adventure of it’s own…and you can follow it!

I hope today no matter where you live you will be encouraged to pick up a good book and READ!
